Lately, we have been experiencing some amazingly severe storms. They can pop-up on short notice and dump a huge amount of rain and whip up a fierce wind. We need the rain, but not the heavy action. With all the tornados and floods going on across the country, it feels like mother nature has got an attitude problem. The storms do make for some dramatic skies.
OK HW
Ya'll ain't the only ones, brother -- we've been getting those afternoon storms as well, even had some hail a few times. Everytime it starts to thunder, the dog freaks out and the electricity has been going out now, which makes it worse. One of those times I started hearing something weird from the back and when I opened the door, I saw those little balls of ice hitting the tin roof of the shed next door. Started thinking of tornadoes and those sheets of tin flying at me, but luckily it didn't get to that point and stopped after a couple of minutes. Still, it's a pretty strange occurrence in the swamp bowl of New Orleans.
ReplyDeleteWe missed these in Richmond, but I noticed that they were slow and wet!
ReplyDeleteLove the dramatic clouds - I've really noticed them more lately than ever before...
