Image for 2/25/11 - Quitting Time

I see these big spheres everyday where I work and I have no idea what they are for. I think they have some connection with a wind tunnel or test facility, maybe a gas storage system. Sometimes I prefer to leave things ambiguous, enjoy the mystery. Pretty colors and shapes. Isn't that enough?

  2. I love that you say you don't know what the heck the thing is. There's so much stuff around I don't know what in the world it's for. Watched the 1978 Superman for a few minutes last night. OMG that had to have the slowest, dorkiest backstory intro on record. Marlon B actually tried, and laughably, to give the paper-thin scene some Stanislavski gravitas. But this sphere might have spun off the exploding Krypton and landed there.

  3. And, even when you figure out its purpose, it may still maintain its other-worldly mystique - like those pyramid-shaped things that they keep salt and sand in for when it snows...there is simply no logical location for them.
